“The first thing that impressed us was the Odyssey's school environment. Its school compound has large green fields surrounded with wonderful greenery. The design of the classrooms and the adjacent corridors facilitate open interaction between teachers, students and parents. We like that our sons are in an environment where they learn positive social interactions with adults and other children. Since attending school, they are more confident when conversing with adults and are also playing better with their peers.

We also like the school's curriculum which focuses on child-centred learning and encourages creative thinking. Apart from fixed lessons such as Letterland to teach the alphabet or PlayMath to teach math concepts, Odyssey also sets ups several projects each year to teach the children creative problem solving which is an invaluable life skill. For example, my sons participated in the recent environment project by contributing their ideas on what improvements their class could make to their school's environment. The teachers motivated the students to explore ideas and think for themselves. A wonderful result from this creative process was the pride we saw in our sons' face when they showed us their work.

Most importantly, our sons enjoy going to Odyssey – The Global Preschool very much.”

“There is no shortage of good preschools in my neighbourhood, but Odyssey – The Global Preschool stands out. After receiving an excellent review from a friend, who has sent both her sons to Odyssey, I decided to visit the Wilkinson campus and experience it first-hand.

My husband and I fell in love with the vast and clean compound, liked the curriculum and most of all, we were impressed by how well-adjusted and well-mannered the children were. We were greeted with smiles, “Hello Sir, hello Madam”, and a genuine desire to show us their campus – and this was from the kids! We immediately registered our son, Tristan, after our visit and the decision has been a good one.

Tristan really enjoys going to Odyssey and has developed both emotionally and intellectually under the attentive care of the teachers. The curriculum is well planned, includes music and art lessons, hands-on activities such as chef hour, sensory projects as well as outdoor play. The teachers conduct the curriculum in a fun and experiential manner; something we believe is important for children. We particularly like the Mandarin lessons that are taught by Chinese teachers, making it possible for Tristan to learn the language from a young age.

My husband and I look forward to the weekly updates the teachers send us every Friday. We love seeing photos of Tristan and his classmates in various action shots during class lessons and activities. The regular parent-teacher-child sessions, project showcases and workshops keep us updated and involved in our child’s development. We know Tristan is in good hands at Odyssey.”

“We have two children at Odyssey, The Global Preschool: Fabio (4) and Marco (2). Odyssey has a fantastic curriculum, with a Chinese language immersion programme. The school also provides a safe and clean environment for children. We love the lush outdoor spaces as well as the design of the classrooms, which are bright with lots of windows. The sensory projects help children to experience new things and the curriculum encourages creative thinking. The teachers motivate the kids to explore ideas in every aspect and to learn to think for themselves. There’s open interaction between parents and teachers. Every week we receive an update about our children including pictures so that we know how they are progressing. The teachers also provide opportunities for parents to participate in class activities, such as story-time, cooking and arts and crafts classes. Outside of home, preschool is the next best place to instil good values. The children have a good balance between indoor and outdoor learning. It’s important for them to connect with nature, so we appreciate the hands-on outdoor experiences they’re involved in at Odyssey that teach them about environmental issues.”
