Chitra Venkatesh

I hold both the Diplomas in Early Childhood Education, Teaching and Leadership as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on attaining a Masters in Education. My diverse education and work experiences range from engineering, publishing, business administration and law; these have brought diversity of thought into educating young children. I firmly believe that every child should be respected as an individual and each child has the innate ability and potential to develop optimally.

I see my role as one of nurturing the potential in each child through my work with each teacher in the programme to develop their competency to in turn work with children from diverse backgrounds to develop the right social and emotional intelligences; I believe strongly in the partnership between parents, teachers and the child. Through this partnership the positive learning environments at preschool can be replicated at home and vice versa, to enable the child to grow to love the preschool as a home away from home.
