Joachim Liu

Prior to teaching in the early childhood field, I was working as an IT trainer and doing relief teaching in primary and secondary schools. My career in early childhood began three years ago when I joined the apprenticeship programme offered by Knowledge Universe, where I was trained at the Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Teaching) level, to become a qualified early childhood educator. Since then, I have been teaching Kindergarteners. Coming into a field dominated by female educators was initially daunting for me; but over time, I've managed to win the acceptance of my co-educators and parents.

My interest and passion in teaching and working with young children is still growing strong, and joining Odyssey as a Curriculum Specialist has driven me to further upgrade my qualifications in this field. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor in Early Childhood Studies from Monash University, Australia.

Children continually impress me with their speed of learning and I deem it a personal challenge to provide them with various forms of knowledge to prepare them for life-long learning. I believe that children are curious, capable, independent and interactive hands-on learners who enjoy being challenged to discover new things.
